A versatile earth fault relay

EOR-D

Our earth fault relay EOR-D can be deployed in various different situations and either wall mounted or built into a control panel. In total, up to 16 feeders can be monitored by a single EOR system. To exploit the differing advantages of the individual earth fault location processes in various fault situations, the freely programmable earth fault relay EOR-D provides various location processes.

A device combining numerous location processes

The earth fault location relay offers a location process for both compensated and isolated networks.

Compensated networks:

  • Transient earth fault process using the qu2 and qui algorithm: One-time faults, intermittent faults, faults in loops with large circulating currents (qu2) and erroneous resistances in the kOhm range can be located
  • Harmonics process with measurement of the associated power direction for a user-selected frequency
  • Active power direction process or cos(φ): Evaluation of the active power direction, active residual current increase
  • Pulse location

Isolated networks:

  • Transient earth fault process using the qu2 and qui algorithm: One-time faults, intermittent faults, faults in loops with large circulating currents (qu2) and erroneous resistances in the kOhm range can be located
  • Reactive power direction or sin(φ) process: Frequency 50 Hz, component of the harmonics process

Monitor up to 16 feeders & make use of multimaster system architecture

The basic device has been designed to monitor four feeders. A 19″ rack can be fitted with up to 4 relays. In this way, up to 16 feeders can be monitored by one EOR system. A combination of several racks is also possible. The EOR-D also allows a multimaster system architecture. Where several devices are connected via the E-LAN system bus, every bus participant can be parameterised or read via an interface (COM 1, COM 2) from every other bus participant.

Share measurement values and parameters easily with connected devices

A unique characteristic of our earth fault relay EOR-D is the ability to set the parameters of every component connected via the E-LAN system bus, and connect them all with the control technology through a single interface. This makes the measurements and parameters of all connected devices available to the controls, where they can be read out or modified.

Switching scheme with up to 3 busbars and 4 busbar sections

Thanks to the freely parameterisable scheme with up to 3 busbars and 4 busbar sections, the most diverse plant configurations can be reflected in the parameters. Thus, the measured busbar voltages can, for example, be assigned to the corresponding feeder. This makes it possible to enter the switch positions via binary inputs or provide them using the EOR-D control technology.

The freely parameterisable WinEDC as the perfect supplement for the EOR-D

The WinEDC program can be connected to the EOR-D directly or via modem. The following functions are available:

  • Parameterisation of the relay
  • Launch support
  • Fault analysis
  • Network analysis
